A licensed attorney since 1990, Travis focuses his practice on business litigation, creditor’s rights, foreclosures, civil contract disputes, criminal defense, alternative dispute resolutions and personal injury throughout the State of Indiana and the U.S. District Courts. He received a degree in Business Administration, concentration in accounting, from the University of Findlay, magna cum laude, and the Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, where he was awarded a Doctor of Jurisprudence (1990). He was an academic All-American and captain of his college wrestling team.

Travis provides legal counsel in a broad range of business litigation and creditor’s rights matters, including problem loans, mortgage foreclosures, bankruptcy monitoring and litigation, collection of delinquent accounts and compliance with federal laws and regulations applicable to creditors. He further provides legal counsel in a broad range of commercial litigation matters including work-outs and restructuring of financial problems, assistance in negotiations and mediations for individuals and businesses, and effective use of all legal remedies responsive to the needs of clients, both corporate and personal.

Travis has been involved in virtually every type of litigation ranging from white collar criminal federal court trials to administrative hearings before state agencies. His clients range from individuals needing representation before grand juries to complex business disputes at both the federal and state level. He has served as local and regional counsel for many out-of-state companies and other law firms for their litigation needs in Northeast Indiana.

Whether the case involves an interpretation of a single clause in a commercial document or a million dollar personal injury claim, Travis applies fundamental legal principles to the analysis of the case. While exploring settlement possibilities prior to trial such as early mediation, some of the best resolutions are achieved by strenuously preparing for trial, continuously advising his clients of the progress of the case and seeking input on options available to them to resolve their dispute.

Travis makes every effort to minimize client expenses through appropriate staffing and effective use of paralegals. Attorney fees are structured in a number of ways, including contingency fees, standard hourly charges or other arrangements tailored to the client’s needs. Clientele includes regional corporations, local business and private individuals.

Travis has been a lecturer at Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum seminars for the state and county bar associations and is actively involved in a number of community affiliations, including formerly serving as President of the Greater Fort Wayne Crime Stoppers.

Travis has been active in the local community having coached middle school wrestling, youth soccer and has served as a member of various Boards of Directors for community organizations.

Travis was born in Northeast Indiana. In addition to numerous academic awards, community service and affiliations, his family history can be traced to General Benjamin Lincoln who served in the American Revolutionary War. Upon the British defeat at Yorktown, George Washington, then General of the United States Army, presented to General Lincoln a saber as a gift for his services to his country. The saber was donated to the Washington Smithsonian Institute and is now prominently displayed in its Museum of History.
